What To Expect
Select your preferred time of your penguin encounter when you book. Then, travel independently to Ski Dubai at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates in advance of the start time. An indoor ski resort, Ski Dubai boasts not only ski slopes and jumps, but also a penguin zone that’s home to a colony of adorable Gentoo and king penguins. The penguins can roam free within the sub-zero zone and are cared for and fed — with regular servings of fish — by a skilled team. Upon arrival, don your provided thermal suit to keep you cozy in the chilly zone, and meet your expert penguin guide. Then, after instructions, head inside with the rest of your group for your encounter. Your group is limited to maximum of 12 to ensure you enjoy a more personalized experience. To start, watch a fascinating short film on the Gentoo and king penguins. Learn about their natural habitats in regions such as Antarctica, and get the lowdown on their characteristics, markings, and behavior. Then, as a group, watch as your guide introduces you to a gorgeous Gentoo penguin and tells you more about the species.
Finally, enjoy free time to watch the penguins as they play in and around their pool. Gaze through the pool windows and admire their aquatic grace as the penguins swim and dive underwater with almost-effortless ease. After roughly 40 minutes, exit the zone and change back into your day clothes. Your experience concludes when you leave Ski Dubai.
